Out with the Old
Make a list of things that are no longer working for you. Use your intuition to tune in and really get to the bottom of what is not working for you. Consider all of the following areas and any others you can think of:
- self-defeating patterns and habits
- outdated beliefs
- negative self-talk
- judgments of self and others
- toxic relationships
- unhealthy food and beverages
- anything that makes you feel less than your true self
In With the New
For each item in the list you just created, cross it out and next it write what you want to replace it with, in order to make a better you.
Anchor Your Changes
Place reminders of your new "creations" in places where you'll see them often. For example, if you replaced negative self-talk of, "I don't like the way I look," you could put a large Post-It on your bathroom mirror saying, "Sassy and beautiful!". You can write notes to yourself and put them in the pockets of clothes you wear often so you'll find them later. Jot reminders on your calendar, like, "Remember to eat yummy, healthy foods today!"
